Regular Season Round 25: Crailsheim - Karlsruhe 62-65

The most exciting game of round 25 in the ProA took place in Crailsheim. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of much higher ranked Crailsheim Merlins (18-7) to sixteenth ranked BG Karlsruhe (6-19) 65-62 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 37-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. BG Karlsruhe made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Rouven Roessler (198-80) stepped up and scored 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American point guard T.J. Bannister (180-84, college: Liberty, agency: KMG Sports Management) chipped in 15 points. At the losing side naturalized American forward Jonathan Moore (203-82, college: N.C.Central) responded with 10 points and 8 rebounds and American swingman Josten Crow (193-87, college: Sam Houston St.) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. BG Karlsruhe maintains sixteenth place with 6-19 record. Crailsheim Merlins at the other side keep the second position with seven games lost. BG Karlsruhe are looking forward to face higher ranked Science City Jena (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Crailsheim Merlins will play against Bayer Giants in Leverkusen and are hoping to win this game.
