Sixth-ranked Utena (7-17) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Aistes-LSU (12-13) in Kaunas on Saturday. Aistes-LSU managed to secure only three-point victory 66-63. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 17-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Aistes-LSU forced 23 Utena turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Neringa Skadaite (179-92) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. International power forward Laura Svaryte (190-92) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was international center Kristina Alminaite (205-90) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 22 rebounds and American guard Sakellie Daniels (170-84, college: Charlotte) added 12 points, 10 rebounds, 13 assists and 4 steals respectively. Aistes-LSU maintains fifth position with 12-13 record. Utena lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 17 games lost. Aistes-LSU are looking forward to face league's leader Kibirkstis-VICI in Vilnius in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Utena will play at home against Suduva (#3) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
