An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Klaipeda. First ranked Kibirkstis-VICI faced 4th ranked Fortuna. Guests from Vilnius (23-1) smashed host Fortuna (13-12) 78-54. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fortuna. The game was mostly controlled by Kibirkstis-VICI. Fortuna was better in third quarter 11-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kibirkstis-VICI dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Fortuna's 24. Kibirkstis-VICI forced 24 Fortuna turnovers and outrebounded them 44-30 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Kibirkstis-VICI players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for international forward Lina Pikciute (192-90) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. International guard Greta Sniokaite (180-91) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Kibirkstis-VICI players scored in double figures. International point guard Gabriele Gutkauskaite (175-90) replied with 16 points and 4 steals and international power forward Egle Siksniute (198-91) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Fortuna. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kibirkstis-VICI have an impressive 15-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 23-1 record. Fortuna at the other side keeps the fourth place with 12 games lost. Kibirkstis-VICI will play against Aistes-LSU (#5) in Kaunas in the next round. Fortuna will play on the road against the league's second-placed H-Sirenos in Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
