2.Bundesliga top team - Rotenburg/Scheessel (16-3) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Lichterfelde (8-11) 92-65. The game without a history. Rotenburg/Scheessel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. Rotenburg/Scheessel forced 19 Lichterfelde turnovers. It was a great evening for point guard Emma lina Stach (175-96) who led her team to a victory scoring 22 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. American power forward Kierra Mallard (190-90, college: Texas Tech) helped adding 18 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Rotenburg/Scheessel players scored in double figures. Rotenburg/Scheessel's coach Christian Greve felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Noemie Rouault (180-95) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds and Lena Gohlisch (173-93) scored 17 points and 4 assists. The victory was the third consecutive win for Rotenburg/Scheessel. They maintain first place in North with 16-3 record. Newly promoted Lichterfelde dropped to the eighth position with 11 games lost. Rotenburg/Scheessel will face SG BBZ Opladen (#3) in Leverkusen in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lichterfelde will play on the road against Hagen Phoenix (#11) and hope to win that game.
