Liga Nationala top team - CSU Sibiu (17-4) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eighth ranked Pitesti (12-10) 80-69. It looked good early as Pitesti took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then CSU Sibiu had a 26-12 second period charge getting the lead and Pitesti was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-80. Bosnian-Croatian guard Matija Ceskovic (192-81) scored 20 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and German-Serbian forward Robert Sarovic (205-78) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American Lamonte Ulmer (198-86, college: Rhode Island) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Croatian guard Pankracije Barac (196-81, agency: Court Side) scored 16 points and 4 assists. CSU Sibiu have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-4 record. Pitesti at the other side keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Rovinari. CSU Sibiu will play against BC Timisoara (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pitesti will play against Timba Timosoara in Timisoara and hopes to get back on the winning track.
