Fourteenth-ranked DniproAzot (2-18) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Ferro-ZNTU (12-8) in Dniprodzerzhynsk on Friday. The visitors from Zaporozhye managed to secure only six-point victory 80-74. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-15. But DniproAzot won second period 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where DniproAzot used huge pressure winning it 22-20 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 4-10. Ferro-ZNTU looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. It was a great evening for guard Alexander Rybalko (190-79) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. The former international guard Mykola Vilkhovetskyi (191-88) helped adding 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international forward Yaroslav Zubrytskyi (202-74) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Igor Krivtsov (201-86) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ferro-ZNTU moved-up to fifth place. DniproAzot lost their eighth game in a row. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Ferro-ZNTU will meet at home league's second-placed BC Donetsk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. DniproAzot will play against the league's leader Khimik (#1) in Yuzhny and hope to secure a win.
