Regular Season Round 25: Akhisar Bld - Yesilgiresun 80-77

The most exciting game of round 25 in the TB2L took place in Akhisar. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Yesilgiresun (17-8) to seventh ranked Akhisar Bld (15-10) 80-77 on Saturday evening. Yesilgiresun cut a 16-point first quarter deficit to three at the end of the game. Akhisar Bld made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Nic Wise (178-87, college: Arizona) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 assists. Center Hakan Yapar (202-84) contributed with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. American power forward Joshua Heytvelt (210-86, college: Gonzaga) answered with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international center Umit Turkoglu (211-81) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Yesilgiresun. Four Yesilgiresun players scored in double figures. Yesilgiresun's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Akhisar Bld maintains seventh place with 15-10 record. Yesilgiresun at the other side dropped to the third position with eight games lost. They share it with Vestel. Akhisar Bld are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Hacettepe (#18) in Ankara in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Yesilgiresun will play at home against Gelism (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
