Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Istanbul B.B. (16-9) won against at home 9th ranked Gelism (12-13) 89-80 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 45-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Gelism was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for guard Recep Dogrusoz (192-86) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 4 assists. American forward Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St., agency: David Lee services) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners.
