Regular Season Round 25: Ankara DSI Era - Istanbul DSI 85-79

Very expected game when 15th ranked Istanbul DSI (8-17) lost on the road to third ranked Ankara DSI Era (18-7) 85-79 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Istanbul DSI won fourth quarter 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ankara DSI Era made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game, while Istanbul DSI only scored seven points from the stripe. Istanbul DSI was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for forward Mustafa Gorur (204-88, agency: 1x1 Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds. American point guard Lamar Karim (178-83, college: So.Poly State, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 21 points and 5 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners. Croatian power forward Nenad Delic (210-84, agency: Alti Sport) answered with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Omer Sancakli (195-92, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Istanbul DSI. Four Istanbul DSI players scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Ankara DSI Era. They moved-up to second place. Istanbul DSI lost their third game in a row. Istanbul DSI at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. Ankara DSI Era will face league's leader Darussafaka in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Istanbul DSI will play at home against Maliye Milli (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
