Regular Season Round 25: Vechta - MBC 70-72

Date: March 8, 2014
Seventeenth-ranked SC Rasta Vechta (5-20) gave a tough game to ninth ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (12-13). The visitors from Weissenfels managed to secure only two-point victory 72-70. However their fans expected much easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Marcus Hatten (186-80, college: St.John's) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import point guard Adonte Parker (183-89, college: Dayton) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Canadian forward Jacob Doerksen (199-87) answered with 18 points and 9 rebounds and American point guard Richard Williams (177-87, college: San Diego St.) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for SC Rasta Vechta. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Mitteldeutscher BC maintains ninth place with 12-13 record. SC Rasta Vechta lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventeenth position with 20 games lost. Mitteldeutscher BC's next round opponent will be higher ranked EWE Baskets (#3) in Oldenburg and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SC Rasta Vechta will play on the road against ratiopharm Ulm (#7) and hope to win that game.
