Second Stage Round 4: Gure - Bursa BSB 58-73

Everything could happen in Balikesir at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Bursa BSB and 5th ranked Gure had identical 1-2 record. But Gure was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Bursa 73-58 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Bursa BSB. Gure was better in third quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Alyssia Brewer (190-90, college: UCLA) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Arzu Akay (186-76) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. American forward Mariah King (188-90, college: E.Illinois) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and Fulya Sena Sarigul added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Gure's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bursa BSB (2-2) moved-up to third place in Group E, which they share with Mersin Kurtulus. Gure at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Bursa BSB will face Mersin Kurtulus (#4) at home in the next round. Gure will play against Anadolu Univ. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
