Very important is a road loss of third ranked Istanbul Universitesi (17-6) against fourth ranked Kayseri (17-6) on Sunday night. Visiting Istanbul Universitesi was defeated by Kayseri in a tough game in Kayseri 66-72. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 19-13. But Istanbul Universitesi won second period 16-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for American Tanisha Wright (180-83, college: Penn St., agency: LBM Management) who led the winners and scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Naturalized American LaToya Sanders (191-86, college: N.Carolina) accounted for 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Four Kayseri players scored in double figures. Naturalized American forward Michelle Campbell (188-84, college: Rutgers) came up with 13 points and 8 rebounds and American power forward Crystal Langhorne (188-86, college: Maryland) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Istanbul Universitesi in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Kayseri. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Istanbul Univ. Kayseri will play against league's leader Galatasaray in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Istanbul Universitesi will play at home against Besiktas and hopes to get back on the winning track.
