Regular Season Round 20: Marburg - Rhein MB 74-71

The most exciting game of round 20 in the DBBL took place in Marburg. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Rhein Main Baskets (12-8) to fifth ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg (12-8) 74-71 in the game for the second place. Rhein Main Baskets were trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 16-7 charge of BC Pharmaserv Marburg, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Rhein Main Baskets to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Margret Skuballa (186-87) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Kellindra Zackery (182-88, college: Newman) who added 19 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. American guard Alyssa Karel (172-89, college: Wisconsin) responded with 27 points and 6 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Denise Beliveau (180-89, college: New Hampshire) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. BC Pharmaserv Marburg have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Rhein Main Baskets. Rhein Main Baskets lost fourth consecutive game. BC Pharmaserv Marburg is looking forward to face Osnabruck (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rhein Main Baskets will play against Herner TC (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
