Regular Season Round 32: Svendborg - Horsens IC 96-79

An interesting game for Svendborg (18-6) which hosted in Svendborg 4th ranked Horsens IC (13-13). Third ranked Svendborg had an easy win 96-79. The game was mostly controlled by Svendborg. Horsens IC managed to win third quarter 27-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Svendborg dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Horsens IC's 36 and made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. American point guard Johnell Smith (180-80, college: New Orleans) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points, 8 assists and 6 steals (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). The other American import center William Paul (208-88, college: Arkansas Tech) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Bosnian swingman Vedran Borovcanin (199-85) replied with 18 points and 4 assists and international center Jonas Zohore Bergstedt (210-91) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Horsens IC. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Svendborg moved-up to second place. Horsens IC at the other side keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost. Svendborg are looking forward to face Falcon (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Horsens IC will play against Naestved (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
