14th ranked BC-93 Pulsar (2-16) was outscored at home by fifth ranked Avangard (13-5) with the biggest margin this round 100-49 on Tuesday night. The game without a history. Avangard led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to BC-93 Pulsar's 36. They outrebounded BC-93 Pulsar 36-19 including a 27-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Avangard looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by BC-93 Pulsar's players. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international forward Viktor Gerasymchuk (200-81) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international center Volodymyr Gurtovyy (207-75) helped adding 13 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Avangard players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Sergey Roman (205-92) with 7 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Taras Lipin (185-93) scored 8 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Avangard have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Avangard maintains fifth place with 13-5 record. BC-93 Pulsar lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Koksokh-Stal. Avangard are looking forward to face higher ranked Avantazh-Politekhnik (#3) in Kharkov in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BC-93 Pulsar will play on the road against Musson (#8) in Symferopil and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
