An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Wien. First ranked Gussing Knights faced 4th placed Zepter Vienna. Guests from Gussing (19-6) defeated host Zepter Vienna (16-9) 94-89. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Zepter Vienna won third quarter 27-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gussing Knights shot 28 for 39 from the free-throw line, while Zepter Vienna only scored ten points from the stripe. American guard Anthony Shavies (191-83, college: Missouri St., agency: Interperformances) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and his fellow American import forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) chipped in 20 points and 10 rebounds. International swingman Florian Trmal (193-89) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian Predrag Miletic (193-84) scored 15 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Zepter Vienna's coach Neno Asceric tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Gussing Knights maintains first place with 19-6 record. Zepter Vienna lost fourth consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. Gussing Knights will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Zepter Vienna will play again against the league's leader Gussing Knights (#1) and hope to secure a win.
