Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked Mykolaiv and 10th ranked Hoverla had identical 9-11 record. This time Mykolaiv used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Frankivsk 70-60 on Wednesday night. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 36-22 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Hoverla outrebounded Mykolaiv 37-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. Hoverla was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Bill Clark (195-88, college: Duquesne) who led his team to a victory with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Croatian power forward Mateo Kedzo (206-84) contributed with 13 points and 4 assists for the winners. Five Mykolaiv players scored in double figures. The former international center Danylo Kozlov (206-82) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and the former international point guard Oleksandr Panchenko (184-84) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Hoverla. Hoverla's coach Evgeni Murzin tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Mykolaiv (10-11) moved-up to eighth place. Hoverla lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. Mykolaiv will face higher ranked Azovmash (#6) in Mariupol in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
