There was no surprise when 10th ranked Rhein MB II (5-16) was defeated on the road by second ranked Bad Aibling (17-4) 54-45 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 54-45. Bad Aibling forced 19 Rhein MB II turnovers. The best player for the winners was American swingman Ciara Iglehart (180-84, college: Ohio) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Forward Stefanie Polder (184-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Kristin Annawald (184-93) who recorded 9 points and 14 rebounds and guard Freya Schmidt (175-91) added 4 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Bad Aibling maintains second place in South with 17-4 record having just three points less than leader Keltern. Rhein MB II lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 16 games lost. Bad Aibling will face Weiterstadt (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rhein MB II will play against TG 1889 Sandhausen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
