Liga Feminina top team - AD Vagos (13-4) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat eighth ranked Alges (6-10) 85-81. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-19. But Alges won third quarter 21-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AD Vagos forced 22 Alges turnovers. Worth to mention a quality performance of American forward Janae Fulcher (190-90, college: Arizona St.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and the other American import swingman Korinne Campbell (182-88, college: W.Virginia) who added 21 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Alges players scored in double figures. Alges' coach Manuel Povea tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. AD Vagos have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-4 record, which they share with Lombos Quinta. Defending champion Alges keep the eighth place with ten games lost. AD Vagos is looking forward to face Boa Viagem (#3) in Angra Heroismo in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Alges will play on the road against GDEMAM (#10) in Algueirao and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
