Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Mersin Kurtulus and 3rd placed Bursa BSB had identical 2-2 record. But Bursa BSB was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Mersin 77-76 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the second position in Group E. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 21-16 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. American guard Erica Wheeler (170-91, college: Rutgers) saved the victory by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds. Ilkay Kocaslan contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Alyssia Brewer (190-90, college: UCLA) answered with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 20 rebounds and Seyma Kutun (-93) added 17 points in the effort for Bursa BSB. Mersin Kurtulus (3-2) moved-up to second place in Group E, which they share with Yakin Dogu. Loser Bursa BSB dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Mersin Kurtulus will face Gure (#5) in Balikesir in the next round. Bursa BSB will play against the league's second-placed Yakin Dogu and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
