Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Fellbach (3-18) was outplayed at home by sixth ranked ASC Theresianum Mainz (11-10) 89-62 on Sunday. The game without a history. ASC Theresianum Mainz led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. ASC Theresianum Mainz shot 27 for 37 from the free-throw line, while Fellbach only scored seven points from the stripe. ASC Theresianum Mainz forced 20 Fellbach turnovers. The best player for the winners was forward Eva Marschall (180-91) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Sunniva Ferri (181-97) chipped in 25 points. Five ASC Theresianum Mainz players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian center Katarina Fofic (180) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and Canadian guard Lauren Mortier (175-89) added 13 points respectively. Fellbach's coach Iuliana Miulescu gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for ASC Theresianum Mainz. They maintain sixth place in South with 11-10 record. Newly promoted Fellbach keeps the twelfth position with 18 games lost. ASC Theresianum Mainz will face higher ranked Take-Off Wuerzburg (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fellbach will play against TSV Amicitia (#11) in Viernheim and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
