Ninth-ranked Donau-Ries (7-14) made lots of trouble for second ranked SV Halle Lions (13-8) in Noerdlingen on Sunday. The visitors from Halle managed to secure only three-point victory 75-72. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-72. SV Halle Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Donau-Ries' 36. They outrebounded Donau-Ries 39-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American point guard Amanda Rego (174-86, college: San Diego) who scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Her fellow American import guard Tiffany Porter-Talbert (177-84, college: W.Kentucky) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. SV Halle Lions have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 13-8 record having six points less than leader Wasserburg, which they share with Rhein MB and Marburg. Donau-Ries lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Freiburg. SV Halle Lions is looking forward to face league's leader TSV 1880 Wasserburg at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
