Regular Season Round 25: BC Donetsk - BC Kyiv 81-68

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked BC Kyiv (10-14) was defeated on the road by third ranked BC Donetsk (16-5) 81-68 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by BC Donetsk. BC Kyiv managed to win second period 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BC Donetsk forced 19 BC Kyiv turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. International swingman Dmytro Gliebov (198-88, agency: Beo Basket) stepped up and scored 30 points and 4 assists for the winners and the former international point guard Pavlo Burenko (184-90) chipped in 24 points and 7 assists. At the losing side the former international Ruslan Otverchenko (192-90, agency: Beo Basket) responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds and international forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (201-92) scored 9 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. BC Kyiv's coach Vitaliy Cherniy rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. BC Donetsk moved-up to second place. BC Kyiv at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 14 games lost. BC Donetsk are looking forward to face Mykolaiv (#8) in Mykolaiv in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. BC Kyiv's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kyiv to the arena Budivelnyk.
