Very important is a home loss of second ranked BC Donetsk (16-6) against eighth ranked Mykolaiv (11-12) on Friday night. Host BC Donetsk was defeated by Mykolaiv in a tough game in Donetsk 72-81. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-10. But BC Donetsk won third quarter 24-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mykolaiv players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Latvian swingman Mareks Jurevicus (197-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Bill Clark (195-88, college: Duquesne) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Mykolaiv's coach Agris Galvanovskis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. International swingman Dmytro Gliebov (198-88, agency: Beo Basket) replied with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and international power forward Maxym Korniyenko (204-87, agency: Beo Basket) added 12 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for BC Donetsk. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mykolaiv maintains eighth position with 11-12 record. BC Donetsk at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost. Mykolaiv will play against bottom-ranked DniproAzot (#14) in Dniprodzerzhynsk in the next round where they are favorite. BC Donetsk will play on the road against Dnipro (#13) in Dnepropetrovsk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
