Rather expected game when 4th ranked Baskets Grunberg (12-10) was smashed on the road by first ranked Rotenburg/Scheessel (19-3) 72-51 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Rotenburg/Scheessel. Baskets Grunberg was better in second period 16-6. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rotenburg/Scheessel forced 23 Baskets Grunberg turnovers. It was a very good performance for American guard Janae Young (183-87, college: Pacific) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 rebounds. The former international guard Pia Mankertz (170-90) contributed with 12 points and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Isabell Meinhart (176-94) replied with 5 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Elisabeth Dzirma (178-94) added 5 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Baskets Grunberg. Rotenburg/Scheessel have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in North with 19-3 record. Loser Baskets Grunberg keeps the fourth place with ten games lost.
