Very expected game when 14th ranked Craiova (1-25) was smashed at home by sixth ranked Brasov (15-11) 93-68. It looked good early as Craiova took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Brasov had a 33-14 second period charge getting the lead and Craiova was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-93. Brasov dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Craiova's 44. Brasov forced 25 Craiova turnovers and outrebounded them 53-24 including a 25-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Bosnian point guard Zdenka Kovacevic (170-87) who scored 17 points and 4 assists. American forward Carla Bartee (182-85, college: Mississippi) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Five Brasov players scored in double figures. Coach Daniel Calancea's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Irina Bors (178-88) produced 29 points and 5 assists and forward Janina Simionca (176-84) added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Brasov maintains sixth position with 15-11 record. Craiova lost twentieth fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 25 lost games.
