Very expected game when 18th ranked Hacettepe (3-25) was smashed by fourth ranked Yesilgiresun (20-8) in Ankara 104-71 on Saturday. The game without a history. Yesilgiresun led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Hacettepe's 36. Yesilgiresun looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Hacettepe's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Yesilgiresun made 7 blocks. Quite impressive performance for American power forward Joshua Heytvelt (210-86, college: Gonzaga) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Forward Gokhan Yazicioglu (200-90) contributed with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Yesilgiresun players scored in double figures. Berkay Demirci (-91) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 assists and center Eyup Aydogan (206-89) added 21 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Hacettepe. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Yesilgiresun have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Hacettepe lost twentieth second consecutive game. They stay dead last with 25 lost games. Yesilgiresun will face Antalya (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hacettepe will play against Istanbul B.B. (#6) and hope to win that game.
