Date: March 22, 2014
There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Istanbul DSI (10-18) won against at home higher ranked ITU Istanbul (13-14) 54-49 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But ITU Istanbul won third quarter 10-6. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Quite impressive performance for American point guard Damier Pitts (177-89, college: Marshall, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 29 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Erman Demirer (195-88) contributed with 5 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Istanbul DSI moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Maliye Milli. ITU Istanbul at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with 14 games lost. Istanbul DSI will face higher ranked Vestel (#4) in Manisa in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
