Rather expected game when 16th ranked BG Karlsruhe (6-22) was defeated at home by thirteenth ranked Bayer Giants (9-19) 85-73 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 45-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Bayer Giants looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American John Eggleston (203-88, college: Pennsylvania) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Tony Watson II (188-90, college: Buffalo, agency: SDJ Sports) who added 19 points and 7 assists during the contest. Five Bayer Giants players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Andre Calvin (201-85, college: Drake) responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds and Rouven Roessler (198-80) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. BG Karlsruhe's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted Bayer Giants maintains thirteenth position with 9-19 record. BG Karlsruhe lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. Bayer Giants will face higher ranked NBC (#7) in Nurnberg in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
