Regular Season Round 28: Pertevniyal - Vestel 87-75

The most important game in the last round took place in Istanbul between third ranked Vestel (19-9) and sixteenth ranked Pertevniyal (9-19) on Saturday night. Vestel was defeated by Pertevniyal on the road 75-87. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Vestel. The game was mostly controlled by Pertevniyal. Vestel managed to win second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Vestel 49-26 including a 20-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Berk Demir (203-95) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 9 rebounds. American forward K'Zell Wesson (201-77, college: La Salle) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Pertevniyal players scored in double figures. Pertevniyal's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized Serbian power forward Mesut Ademoglu (207-82, college: NW Nazarene) replied with 17 points and 4 assists and forward Gokhan Orcun Tunca (201-80) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Vestel. Pertevniyal maintains sixteenth position with 9-19 record. Vestel at the other side dropped to the fourth place with nine games lost. Pertevniyal are looking forward to face higher ranked Buyukcekmece (#8) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Vestel will play against Istanbul DSI (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
