An exciting game was played in Ruse. Second ranked Dunav 8806 faced 3rd placed Neftochimic. Host Dunav 8806 (17-6) smashed guests from Burgas (14-9) 93-66. The game without a history. Dunav 8806 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Kristina Santiago (185-89, college: Cal Poly - SLO, agency: LBM Management) who scored 21 points and 8 rebounds. Violina Kocheva (175-91) chipped in 18 points. Four Dunav 8806 players scored in double figures. Dunav 8806's coach Georgi Bozhkov felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Lauren Bell (172-90, college: Pepperdine) who recorded 10 points and 7 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and the other American import forward Sequeena Thomas (183, college: Sam Houston St.) added 13 points respectively. Dunav 8806 have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 17-6 record behind leader Levski. Neftochimic at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. Dunav 8806 are looking forward to face Haskovo 2012 (#5) on the road in the next round. Neftochimic will play against Rilski Sportist and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
