Dynamo Moscow rallied past Spartak Moscow Region in the opener. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 16-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-55. Dynamo Moscow dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak Vidnoye's 36. Dynamo Moscow forced 20 Spartak Vidnoye turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Tina Charles (193-88, college: Connecticut, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Montenegrin Ana Dabovic (183-89) contributed with 17 points and 8 assists for the winners. Four Dynamo Moscow players scored in double figures. International center Natalia Vieru (196-89) answered with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian forward Sonja Petrovic (189-89) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Spartak Vidnoye. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
