Regular Season Round 27: Azovmash - Halychyna 87-74

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Azovmash's (15-7) home victory over 7th ranked Halychyna (12-12) in Mariupol 87-74 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Azovmash. Halychyna managed to win fourth quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Halychyna 83-30 including a 33-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Azovmash looked well-organized offensively handing out 40 assists comparing to just 20 passes made by Halychyna's players. It was an exceptional evening for international forward Kyryl Natyazhko (207-90, college: Arizona, agency: Beo Basket) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. International Maksym Pustozvonov (200-87, agency: Beo Basket) accounted for 16 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Five Azovmash players scored in double figures. Azovmash's coach Zvezdan Mitrovic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Oleksandr Kolchenko (194-88, agency: Beo Basket) came up with 19 points and 4 assists and center Yaroslav Lemyk (204-85) added 15 points and 6 assists respectively for Halychyna in the defeat. Azovmash have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser Halychyna keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Mykolaiv. Azovmash will meet at home league's second-placed BC Donetsk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Halychyna will play against Dnipro (#13) in Dnepropetrovsk and hope to secure a win.
