Very expected game when 18th ranked Hacettepe (3-26) was crushed on the road by sixth ranked Istanbul B.B. (18-11) 116-91 on Saturday. The game without a history. Istanbul B.B. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Hacettepe's 58. Istanbul B.B. looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Hacettepe's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Istanbul B.B. made 8 blocks. Power forward Goekhan Karabiyik (207-88) stepped up and scored 26 points (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) for the winners and forward Tufan Onen (202-89) chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
