An interesting game took place in Hatay where higher ranked Mersin (13-13) was upset on the court of tenth ranked Antakya (10-16) 78-60 on Saturday. The game without a history. Antakya led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Antakya especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. Lithuanian center Gintare Petronyte (196-89) scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and Greek forward Evanthia Maltsi (180-78, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists during the contest. Four Antakya players scored in double figures. American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and American-FYR Macedonian forward Ashley Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Antakya moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Canik Bld. Mersin lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 13 games lost.
