Very important is a road loss of second ranked BC Donetsk (17-8) against sixth ranked Azovmash (16-7) on Saturday night. Visiting BC Donetsk was crushed by Azovmash in Mariupol 65-44. The game was mostly controlled by Azovmash. BC Donetsk managed to win fourth quarter 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BC Donetsk to just 7 points in third quarter. They outrebounded BC Donetsk 36-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Azovmash especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international point guard Dmytro Zabirchenko (192-84, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) fired 11 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. The former international point guard Denys Lukashov (190-89, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 9 points and 6 rebounds. Azovmash's coach Zvezdan Mitrovic felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Oleksandr Antypov (202-95) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and international power forward Maxym Korniyenko (204-87, agency: Beo Basket) added 7 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Azovmash have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Budivelnyk. Loser BC Donetsk keeps the second position with eight games lost. Azovmash will meet BC Odessa (#6) on the road in the next round. BC Donetsk will play against Budivelnyk (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
