The game between closely ranked teams ended with 7th ranked Oliveirense's (8-12) road loss to sixth ranked Lusitania (9-9) 71-80 on Saturday. Oliveirense trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 18-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-80 at the end of the game. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Jaime Smith (191-89, college: Al.-Huntsville) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and 7 assists and center Marcel Momplaisir (205-81, college: Rhode Island, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who added 11 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Lusitania's coach Nuno Barroso used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Aaron Fuller (198-89, college: USC) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and center James Blasczyk (216-90, college: USC, agency: Duran International) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Lusitania have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 9-9 record. Newly promoted Oliveirense dropped to the eighth place with 12 games lost. Lusitania will face Barcelos (#9) on the road in the next round. Oliveirense will play against the league's second-placed Vitoria SC and hope to win that game.
