There was a surprise result in Weissenfels where sixteenth ranked BBC Bayreuth (9-19) smashed higher ranked Mitteldeutscher BC (15-14) 90-66 on Saturday. The game without a history. BBC Bayreuth led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. BBC Bayreuth outrebounded Mitteldeutscher BC 39-22 including a 31-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for BBC Bayreuth especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of guard D.J. Seeley (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and forward Kyle Weems (198-89, college: Missouri St.) who added 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four BBC Bayreuth players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Adonte Parker (183-89, college: Dayton) responded with 15 points and 4 assists and point guard Marcus Hatten (186-80, college: St.John's) scored 12 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BBC Bayreuth moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with s.Oliver Baskets. Loser Mitteldeutscher BC keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. BBC Bayreuth will face higher ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#11) in Frankfurt in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
