Regular Season Round 24: TED Kolejliler - Tofas 88-93

There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Tofas (11-13) won against 8th ranked TED Kolejliler (11-13) in Ankara 93-88. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But TED Kolejliler won third quarter 30-26. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tofas made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Slovenian forward Jure Balazic (204-80) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. International swingman Serhat Cetin (197-86) chipped in 11 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Clay Tucker (196-80, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee, agency: Beo Basket) who recorded 22 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and Latvian point guard Kristaps Valters (190-81) added 15 points and 7 assists respectively. Five Tofas and four TED Kolejliler players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tofas moved-up to eighth place, which they share with TED Kolejliler and Royal Hali. Tofas' next round opponent will be Olin Edirne (#12) at home.
