An interesting game took place in Manisa where 4th placed Vestel (19-10) was upset on its own court by fourteenth ranked Istanbul DSI (11-18) 84-80. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-20. But Vestel won second period 11-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Vestel outrebounded Istanbul DSI 48-31 including 18 on the offensive glass. 26 personal fouls committed by Vestel helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Croatian power forward Nenad Delic (210-84, agency: Alti Sport) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Cihad Sahin (203-83) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Four Istanbul DSI players scored in double figures. Istanbul DSI's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Alex Gordon (184-85, college: Vanderbilt) answered with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Nigerian center Kenny Adeleke (205-83, college: Hartford) added 20 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Vestel. Newly promoted Istanbul DSI maintains fourteenth place with 11-18 record. Vestel at the other side keeps the fourth position with ten games lost. Istanbul DSI's next round opponent will be higher ranked Buyukcekmece (#8) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vestel will play against the league's leader Darussafaka (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
