Regular Season Round 27: Juventus - LSU-Atletas 86-70

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Juventus (11-17) beat bottom-ranked LSU-Atletas (4-26) in Utena 86-70 on Saturday. The game without a history. Juventus led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to LSU-Atletas' 38. They outrebounded LSU-Atletas 37-24 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for forward Saulius Kulvietis (203-91) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. American forward AJ Matthews (216-89, college: Farmingdale St.) accounted for 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Juventus' coach Virginijus Sirvydis used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Zygimantas Skucas (200-92) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Taurantas Tamosiunas (192-92) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for LSU-Atletas in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Juventus maintains sixth place with 11-17 record, which they share with Dzukija. Loser LSU-Atletas stay dead last with 26 lost games. Juventus will meet league's second-placed P.Zvaigzdes in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. LSU-Atletas will have a break next round.
