Regular Season Round 28: Ferro-ZNTU - Cherkasy 79-77

Eleventh-ranked Cherkasy (10-16) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Ferro-ZNTU (17-9) in Zaporozhye on Monday. Ferro-ZNTU managed to secure only two-point victory 79-77. However their fans expected much easier game. Cherkasy was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 16-11 charge of Ferro-ZNTU, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Andrei Malysh (203-83, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Alexander Rybalko (190-79) who added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Ferro-ZNTU players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international center Stanislav Sokur (205-82) responded with 22 points and naturalized Moldovan guard Andrii Kalnichenko (200-86) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Cherkasy's coach Maksym Mikhelson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ferro-ZNTU moved-up to third place. Loser Cherkasy keeps the eleventh position with 16 games lost.
