An interesting game for Gussing Knights (21-8) which hosted in Gussing 4th placed Gmunden Swans (19-10). Second ranked Gussing Knights managed to get a 7-point victory 86-79. The game without a history. Gussing Knights led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Gussing Knights forced 21 Gmunden Swans turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Marcus Heard (201-84, college: De Paul) who scored 23 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Heard is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was international Richard Poiger (202-87) who recorded 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Tyler Griffey (206-90, college: Illinois, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 15 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gussing Knights used an opportunity after Kapfenberg lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Gmunden Swans lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with ten games lost. Gussing Knights' next round opponent will be league's leader Kapfenberg Bulls on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gmunden Swans will play against Raiffeisen Wels and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
