UMMC had little problems against Dynamo-GUVD in Ekaterinburg and reached the next stage of the tournament. The game was mostly controlled by UMMC Ekaterinburg. Dyn.-GUVD was better in fourth quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. UMMC Ekaterinburg players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Dyn.-GUVD's players. French center Sandrine Gruda (193-87) scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized American swingman Deanna Nolan (183-79, college: Georgia, agency: Josep and Nicolas) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists during the contest. American center Devereaux Peters (187-89, college: Notre Dame) responded with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Swedish forward Binta Drammeh (180-92) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
