Regular Season Round 30: Pertevniyal - Akhisar Bld 76-81

Very expected game in Istanbul where 16th ranked Pertevniyal (10-20) was defeated by fourth ranked Akhisar Bld (20-10) 81-76 on Friday. Pertevniyal trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 29-19 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-81 at the end of the game. Pertevniyal was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American point guard Nic Wise (178-87, college: Arizona) who scored 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. The other American import forward Darrius Morrow (203-90, college: E.Carolina, agency: Three Eye Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward K'Zell Wesson (201-77, college: La Salle) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Burak Can Yildizli (202-94) added 11 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Four Akhisar Bld and five Pertevniyal players scored in double figures. Akhisar Bld have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 20-10 record, which they share with Vestel. Loser Pertevniyal dropped to the fifteenth place with 20 games lost. Akhisar Bld will face Istanbul DSI (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pertevniyal will play against Gelism in Izmir and hope to win that game.
