Very important is a road loss of second ranked Kirovograd (19-3) against fourth ranked BK Donetsk-2 (15-5) on Saturday night. Visiting Kirovograd was defeated by BK Donetsk-2 in a tough game in Donetsk 83-90. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 27-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. BK Donetsk-2 made 29-of-38 free shots (76.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a great evening for forward Olexandr Drobiazko (196-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Oleksandr Antypov (202-95) helped adding 22 points and 16 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Quintrell Thomas (203-90, college: UNLV, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and power forward Yevgen Vornik (208-86, agency: Promotex) scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Five Kirovograd players scored in double figures. Kirovograd's coach Igor Chigrinov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted BK Donetsk-2 maintains fourth place with 15-5 record. Loser Kirovograd still keeps top position with three games lost. BK Donetsk-2 will meet bottom-ranked Kyiv-Vovcha zgraya (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Kirovograd will play against Koksokh-Stal (#14) and hope to secure a win.
