Rather expected game when 5th ranked Gure (2-5) was defeated on the road by third ranked Yakin Dogu (4-3) 72-54 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 40-20 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Yakin Dogu dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Gure's 32. They outrebounded Gure 32-20. Nigerian center Aisha Mohammed (191-85, college: Virginia) fired a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Forward Gulnur Sandallioglu (187-87) chipped in 16 points. Aynur Beydili (-90) produced 14 points and 4 assists and American forward Mariah King (188-90, college: E.Illinois) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Newly promoted Yakin Dogu maintains third place in Group E with 4-3 record having just three points less than leader Cankaya. Loser Gure keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Yakin Dogu will face league's second-placed Mersin Kurtulus on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gure will play against the league's leader Cankaya and hope to win that game.
