No shocking result in a game when second ranked Brose Baskets (24-4) won against on the road 10th ranked Phoenix Hagen (12-16) 81-72 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 9 points. Brose Baskets outrebounded Phoenix Hagen 37-26 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Phoenix Hagen was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Trinidad and Tobago-American center D'or Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 8 rebounds and American guard John Goldsberry (191-82, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: Pro One Sports) who added 10 points and 11 assists during the contest. Four Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard David Bell (187-81, agency: Three Eye Sports) responded with 19 points and 8 assists and his fellow American import forward Larry Gordon (196-87, college: Cal Poly Pomona) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Brose Baskets have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with B.Muenchen. Loser Phoenix Hagen keeps the tenth place with 16 games lost. Brose Baskets will face league's leader Bayern Muenchen at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Phoenix Hagen will play against SC Rasta Vechta (#18) and hope to win that game.
