Regular Season Round 28: TBB Trier - Telekom Bsk 75-71

An interesting game took place in Trier where higher ranked Telekom Baskets (17-11) were upseton the court of fourteenth ranked TBB Trier (11-18) 75-71. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-15. But Telekom Baskets won second period 22-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. TBB Trier had a 13-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American-Puerto Rican point guard TreVon Hughes (184-87, college: Wisconsin) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 assists. Lithuanian guard Laurynas Samenas (192-88) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Four TBB Trier players scored in double figures. TBB Trier's coach Henrik Roedl allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Ryan Brooks (193-88, college: Temple, agency: Pro One Sports) replied with 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Lithuanian guard Benas Veikalas (192-83, college: Metro St.) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Telekom Baskets. TBB Trier moved-up to thirteenth place. Telekom Baskets at the other side keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. TBB Trier's next round opponent will be higher ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#11) in Frankfurt and it may be quite challenging game.
