Regular Season Round 31: I.T.U. - Ankara DSI Era 81-84

Tenth-ranked ITU Istanbul (14-16) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Ankara DSI Era (23-8) on Saturday. The visitors from Ankara managed to secure only three-point victory 84-81. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But ITU Istanbul won fourth quarter 25-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ankara DSI Era made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Lamar Karim (178-83, college: So.Poly State) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!). Latvian center Kaspars Kambala (206-78, college: UNLV) contributed with 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Forward Murat Erensoy (202-91) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Rahim Rizvanoglu (183-86) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for ITU Istanbul. Five ITU Istanbul players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Ankara DSI Era maintains second place with 23-8 record having just two points less than leader Darussafaka. ITU Istanbul at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the tenth position with 16 games lost. Ankara DSI Era are looking forward to face Vestel (#4) in Manisa in the next round. ITU Istanbul will play on the road against Maliye Milli (#15) in Ankara and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
